The regional food bank for six Central Florida counties, distributing many millions of meals a year through a network of church pantries, shelters and community organisations. Its warehouse and distribution centre on Mercy Drive is open to the public through a free one-hour session that explains food insecurity in the region and includes a walk through the working warehouse; places must be booked in advance. The organisation also runs a culinary training programme for adults facing barriers to employment, and takes volunteers for sorting shifts, some of them short enough for visitors to join. It lies roughly ten minutes' drive north-west of downtown Orlando in an industrial area, so a car or taxi is needed. Cash donations stretch considerably further than donated goods.
