The Ravenous Pig opened in 2007 and is widely credited with starting Orlando's independent restaurant revival; its owners have since been repeatedly recognised in national cooking awards. The present premises on West Fairbanks Avenue are considerably larger than the original, combining a dining room, a long bar and an on-site brewery producing the house beers. The cooking is broadly modern American with Southern leanings and changes with the season, while a separate bar menu suits those not wanting a full meal. Reservations are advisable at weekends. It stands at the western end of Winter Park, a short drive from Park Avenue and close to the Rollins College campus, with its own car park behind the building, useful in an area where kerbside space is limited.
