The Embaixada Lomográfica do Porto was the city's outpost of Lomography — the cult analogue-photography movement — a little shop and gallery devoted to Lomo cameras, quirky film stock and the joyfully imperfect, saturated look of lo-fi photography. It was a magnet for film-photography fans and creative types after something more soulful than a smartphone snap.
It stocked plastic-fantastic cameras, film, accessories and zines, and championed the analogue revival with workshops and exhibitions. The Porto embassy has since closed, in line with Lomography winding down many of its physical shops, but the city's creative district around Rua de Miguel Bombarda still brims with independent shops and galleries.
