Gleaming on the Saebraut waterfront path, the Sun Voyager, or Solfar, is a stainless-steel sculpture by Jon Gunnar Arnason that many mistake for a Viking longship, though the artist described it as a dreamboat and an ode to the sun. Facing north across the bay to Mount Esja, it is one of the citys most beloved photo spots, especially at sunset and beneath the midnight sun. It sits an easy stroll from the centre along the sea, so pair it with a walk to nearby Harpa. Come early or late in the day to beat the crowds.
