Culture, Food & Wine Tasting Tour in Sigulda & Cēsis from Riga

The day begins with a visit to the medieval town of Cēsis. You’ll enjoy the unique atmosphere of its centuries-old castle on a candlelight tour. You’ll then admire magnificent views across the Gauja Valley during a cable car ride.

You’ll also learn more about traditional Latvian culture at Folk Song Hill. Together with your guide, you’ll explore the naturally beautiful Gutman’s Cave – one of the oldest tourist attractions in the country. You’ll also see the romantic ruins of Sigulda Castle, which has been a popular meeting place for lovers since the 18th century.

Both towns are part of the 2017 European Region of Gastronomy. During the tour you’ll have the opportunity to try mouthwatering local food. It has all of the qualities that are valued highly in Northern Europe: it’s healthy, beautifully presented and natural. Almost everything on the table can be seen growing just outside the window. At the end of the tour you’ll visit a local winery where you’ll taste delicious Latvian wine made from local fruits and berries.
