Rome is an open-air museum where every street and every building is full of history. All of the centuries are represented here, from ancient Roman to contemporary times. While it's known around the world for the Colosseum, the Pope and the Vatican, there is so much more to this intoxicating city. You can say you truly know Rome when you experience the Roman way of life: eat “pizza bianca” (a simple slice of pizza seasoned with just oil and salt), take a late morning trip to your favourite bakery, walk around the young and trendy “made in Italy” shops of Rione Monti, savour an ice cream from the city’s best ice cream parlour, visit arts and crafts markets, get around on a scooter, have a great spaghetti carbonara at a local trattoria...
