The building called Palazzo della Civiltà del Lavoro or simply the Colosseo Quadrato (Square Colosseum), is an icon of Fascist architecture. It's a different kind of architecture in Rome, as the whole EUR area, it's like being in a different city.
Why you should visit it
It's a must see for architecture, photography as well as history buffs, because the area has a fascinating background story. EUR is a residential and business district located south of the city centre. The area was originally chosen in 30s as the site for the 1942 world's fair but also designed to direct the expansion of the city towards the sea.
Special tip
Incredible light to take pictures in the evening sun. From October 2015 this building is Fendi HQ. Get off at EUR Magliana metro station (Blue Line).
