Built in 1646 to defend Šibenik against Ottoman siege, Barone Fortress sits on Vidakuša hill above the old town. Now a visitor attraction, it combines ramparts and viewpoints with augmented-reality displays that reconstruct the city seventeenth-century history. A café serves local wine and produce on the terrace, and ticketed admission includes access to the exhibits and sweeping views over Šibenik.
