Shahgoli, better known to visitors as El Goli, sits at the highest point in Tabriz, and the view over the city from its gardens is reason enough to come.
The park is built around a large artificial lake with paddleboats, ringed by lawns, mature trees and flowerbeds where Tabrizi families spend entire weekend afternoons. A historic pavilion sits on the water, and free public access to the gardens makes it an easy add-on to any day out.
Local tip: Come in the late afternoon when the heat drops and the park fills with local families rather than at midday when it can feel empty and exposed.
