Taipei's most atmospheric temple is a living centre of worship, thick with incense and chanting from dawn. Its ornate carvings and constant local devotion make it unmissable.
Free to enter in the old Wanhua district, it is busiest and most moving during the morning and evening prayers.
Local tip: Visit at dusk when the lanterns glow and worshippers gather to chant.
