Latino dance parties

Salsa dancing, Wikimedia Commons, public domain

Tbilisi has an established Latin social dance scene, organised around dance schools that run classes alongside open social nights rather than around a single fixed weekly party. Caliente Dance Academy, on David Agmashenebeli Avenue, teaches salsa, bachata and kizomba at several levels through the week and runs socials in connection with its classes. Salsa Sunrise holds a weekly Friday Latin dance night, generally from around 20:30 until the early hours, open to dancers of any level without booking and without needing to bring a partner. The scene has grown since the 2010s through visiting instructors, local schools and occasional congresses. Because venues and schedules are advertised mainly through Facebook and Instagram rather than fixed listings, and because organisers move between venues at short notice, checking the relevant school's current social media for the date, address and any cover charge shortly before attending is advisable. Entry is generally inexpensive and often free for those who have taken a class that evening.
