About Uzhhorod

With the river Uzh that divides city for two parts, long embankment as the best place for the promenade, cosy cafes and coffee aroma that follows you whenever you go, old houses and cobbled streets, Uzhhorod will meet you and never let you forget it. Old city is full of legends and hidden surprises. Though it has almost 120 000 people living here, it seems tiny because of small-scale buildings and narrow streets. Situated close to the border it has always been a bridge between cultures and traditions. Depending on where have you come from, you can find here spirit of European or even Balkan cities. The city was a part of Austro-Hungarian Empire, Czechoslovakia, Hungaria, Soviet Ukraine, these epochs left the footprints all around the Uzhhorod.
