Nestled between beautiful hills, Vilnius is one of the prettiest capitals in Europe. The narrow winding streets of its UNESCO World Heritage-listed Old Town contrast with the straight lines of the modern city centre. With a population of 540,000, Vilnius strikes a nice balance between city bustle and small town charm. It has always been an international city, seemingly having been influenced by half of Europe’s nations. It’s this rich history that has shaped it into the vibrant city full of culture and colour that it is today. Vilnius never stands still – it’s constantly changing and evolving.
