Dione was a much-loved little ice-cream parlour (ledainė) right on Pilies gatvė, the handsome cobbled main street of Vilnius's old town. For years it was a favourite sweet stop for locals and visitors strolling between the cathedral and the university — a cheerful spot for a scoop or a sundae in the heart of the historic centre.
Its prime position on Pilies made it an easy treat mid-wander. Dione has since closed for good, but Pilies gatvė and the surrounding old-town lanes remain dotted with cafes and ice-cream spots to satisfy a sweet tooth.
