This ticketed programme provides admission to two landmark buildings on Capitol Hill, accompanied by a licensed guide. Inside the United States Capitol the route covers the Rotunda beneath the cast-iron dome, the Crypt and National Statuary Hall, formerly the chamber of the House of Representatives. Across the street the Library of Congress opens onto the Thomas Jefferson Building, whose Great Hall, mosaics and Main Reading Room overlook are the principal draws, together with Jefferson's surviving personal library and a Gutenberg Bible. The exterior portion passes the Supreme Court, the Senate and House office buildings, the Grant Memorial and the Peace Monument. Sessions run between two and five hours depending on the option chosen. On Mondays the Capitol Visitor Center museum substitutes for the Library.
