Arlington National Cemetery covers 639 acres on the Virginia bank of the Potomac and holds more than 400,000 graves. This ticket covers the narrated tram tour, which departs from the Welcome Center and runs a circuit of roughly 45 minutes with commentary on the cemetery's history and the people buried there. Passengers may leave and rejoin the tram at the designated stops, which include the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, where the changing of the guard takes place, the grave of President John F. Kennedy with its eternal flame, and Arlington House, the former Custis-Lee mansion overlooking Washington. The vehicles board outside the Welcome Center. The cemetery grounds themselves may also be walked without charge.
