The pine-covered peninsula above the old town is Split's shared back garden, with paths, chapels and viewpoints that cost nothing to reach.
Climb the steps from Varoš to Vidilica, continue to the Sedlo watchtower at 148 metres, then drop down through the pines towards Bene.
Local tip: The visitor centre at Trumbićeva obala 18 has maps, and a small electric bus runs up the hill on weekday mornings.
