Swiss Hotel Ottawa

The Swiss Hotel is one of the few independently owned and operated hotels in central Ottawa, set in a limestone house built in 1872 in a vernacular Classical Revival style on Daly Avenue in Sandy Hill. Originally three residential units, the building later became apartments and then a rooming house; the Sauter family bought it in 1985, ran it as Gasthaus Switzerland Inn and relaunched it as the Swiss Hotel in 2010. There are 22 rooms across eight categories, many with fireplaces, hardwood floors and glass bathrooms. A courtyard garden, parking and a meeting room are available. The ByWard Market, Parliament Hill and the University of Ottawa are all within walking distance.
