An independent bookshop on South 6th Street, opened in 2014 and reconstituted as a non-profit that also operates Codex, a free writing centre for young people, in the same building. It stocks literary fiction, poetry, art and children's books with a marked emphasis on small presses, and runs a reading series that brings in national and international writers. A cafe operates at the front. The interior is known for an installation of hand-made artificial birds suspended overhead, made by the founders. Purchases fund the youth programme directly. The shop sits in a quiet, residential-scale block a few minutes' walk south of Fremont Street, among several other independent businesses. Signed and small-press titles here are often unavailable anywhere else in the city.
