The Pig & the Lady

Andrew Le's restaurant began as a farmers' market stall, spent twelve years in Chinatown and moved in October 2025 to Waialae Avenue in Kaimuki, the neighbourhood where he grew up. The cooking is Vietnamese in foundation, pho built on his mother's recipes, banh xeo and shaking beef, with French technique and island produce layered over it, plus dishes that nod to the old Kaimuki saimin stands. The dining room is larger and lighter than the Chinatown site, and the menu splits between long-standing favourites and newer plates. Kaimuki itself repays a wander: a low-rise commercial strip of coffee roasters, bars and small restaurants about ten minutes inland from Waikiki by car. Reservations are advisable at dinner; there is metered street parking and a lot behind the building.
