A 57-room independent-feeling hotel on a narrow side street between M Street and the C&O Canal, named after Alexander Graham Bell, who conducted experiments nearby. The location is unusually quiet for Georgetown, a few doors from the canal towpath and a short walk from the Potomac waterfront. Interiors run to dark wood, brass and jewel-toned fabrics. The rooftop bar, open seasonally, is one of the few elevated vantage points in the district and looks over Georgetown rooftops towards the river and the Kennedy Center. Georgetown has no Metro station; the nearest are Foggy Bottom-GWU and Rosslyn, each around twenty minutes on foot, with the DC Circulator bus running along M Street.
