Saravan Forest Park, about 15 kilometres south of central Rasht, protects one of Gilan’s oldest forest tracts, valued for plant species rare even by national standards.
There is a pond with pedal boats near the entrance and walking trails through the forest, and it borders the Gilan Rural Heritage Museum, making the two an easy combined half-day trip. It holds 4.3 on Google from 1,674 reviews.
Local tip: Go on a weekday if you can. Weekends bring heavy crowds from Rasht and beyond.
