Nasir al-Mulk Mosque, better known as the Pink Mosque, was built in the late 1800s for the Qajar nobleman it is named after, and pink tilework on its exterior gives it its nickname. Inside, stained glass in the western hall catches the early morning sun and throws pools of colour across the floor and carpets.
Local tip: Arrive early, before the tour buses; there is a small entrance fee, which varies, so check on the day.
