The Ylläs Swing is a simple wooden swing set up with a view out over Äkäslompolo and the lake, the kind of low-key spot locals send visitors to for a photo rather than anything formally signposted as an attraction. It costs nothing to use and takes only a few minutes to find on foot from the village.
It's most photogenic in the low winter light or during the midnight sun in summer, when the lake and fells behind it catch the colour.
Local tip: Go early morning or late evening to get it to yourself – it's a popular five-minute stop for everyone staying in Äkäslompolo.
