Kalnciema Quarter is a community-led restoration project on the left bank of the Daugava, where a cluster of 19th-century wooden buildings has been saved and reopened as a cultural hub. Its popular Saturday market brings together Latvian farmers, bakers and craftspeople selling seasonal, locally made goods, and the courtyard hosts concerts, exhibitions and workshops. The initiative champions sustainable local produce and the preservation of Riga’s distinctive timber architecture.
