Suerte

Suerte

Suerte is a Mexican restaurant in East Austin built around masa made in house from heirloom corn, which is nixtamalised and milled on the premises for the tortillas, tetelas and other maize dishes on the menu. The cooking draws heavily on Oaxacan technique while using Texas produce and meat, and the bar concentrates on mezcal, tequila and agave-based cocktails. The dining room is large and busy, with a long bar and an open kitchen, and it is included in the Michelin Guide’s Texas selection. Dinner is served every evening, with additional midday service at weekends. Reservations are recommended, though walk-in seats are usually kept at the bar. Nearby East Sixth Street has plentiful bars for afterwards.
