The Plaza del Grano, officially Plaza de Santa Maria del Camino, is one of Leon’s most charming and atmospheric squares, retaining its old cobbles of rounded river stones and a wonderfully timeless feel. Framed by rustic arcaded buildings, a central fountain and the church of Santa Maria del Mercado, it once hosted the city’s grain market. Peaceful and picturesque, a little away from the busier streets, it offers a lovely glimpse of old Leon and a favourite spot for a quiet moment or a photograph.
