Ljubljana's Cat Caffé was, for a while, the city's cosy corner for coffee with feline company — a warm little café where resident cats padded between the tables while you sipped a drink and made a new whiskered friend or two. It had a devoted local following among cat-lovers and anyone after a gentle, low-key break from sightseeing.

Sadly, the Cat Caffé has closed down. Ljubljana's compact, café-lined old town along the Ljubljanica river still overflows with charming spots for a coffee, though — so you are never far from a good cup.
