The Kasbah was a cosy, colourful Middle Eastern café-restaurant on Kingos gate in Oslo's Grünerløkka, and for years one of the neighbourhood's friendliest spots for a plate of meze. It built a following for its homemade hummus and baba ghanoush and an unusually generous spread of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes — a real rarity in the area when it opened.
The little room closed in 2021, and the same address on Kingos gate is now home to a Middle Eastern restaurant called Habsak, which carries on the meze-and-falafel tradition in the very same spot.
