The Aquarium Terrarium in Šibenik was a small, family-friendly attraction near the old town — a compact zoo of sorts where visitors could get close to fish, reptiles, amphibians and other creatures. For years it made a handy rainy-day or with-the-kids stop a short walk from Šibenik's medieval centre.
It has since closed for good. If you are after wildlife and the outdoors around Šibenik, the nearby Krka and Kornati national parks offer waterfalls, islands and abundant birdlife, and the old town's own sights are only minutes away.
