Gūtmaņa ala

Gūtmaņa ala

The largest grotto in the Baltics and Latvia's oldest tourist attraction, carved into red sandstone and inscribed by visitors since the 1600s.

A short walk from the car park brings you to a sandstone opening almost 19 metres deep, with a spring running out and old carved graffiti.

Local tip: Entry is free but parking is charged. The national park information centre is at the same car park.
