Tarbiat is Tabriz's main pedestrian street, laid out in the early Pahlavi era and still lined with the architecture of that period rather than modern shopfronts.
It runs car-free between cafes, small shops and benches, and doubles as the natural link between the modern city centre and the edge of the Grand Bazaar. Locals use it as an evening promenade as much as visitors do.
Local tip: Walk it slowly around sunset, when it is at its busiest and most atmospheric with locals out for their evening stroll.
