Warszawa Powisle occupies the small circular pavilion that once served as the ticket hall for Powisle railway station, a 1960s modernist structure of glass and concrete beneath the approach to Poniatowski Bridge. Drinks are passed through the original ticket windows, and most customers stand or sit outside on the surrounding terrace and steps, which fill on warm evenings with a mixed student and creative crowd. The bar is operated by Grupa Warszawa, which runs several of the city’s better-known venues. Beer, spirits and simple food are the mainstay, with DJs at weekends and an informal atmosphere rather than a club one. It stands a short walk from Powisle station and the Vistula riverside boulevards.
