A small basement record shop on 14th Street, trading since 2005 and one of the few independents to have held its ground as the corridor gentrified around it. Stock is predominantly second-hand vinyl, strongest in soul, funk, jazz, Brazilian and Latin records, alongside go-go, the percussion-driven genre native to Washington and difficult to find elsewhere. There is a wall of dollar bins and a modest selection of new releases. The shop is compact, densely filled and staffed by people who know the stock, and listening before buying is normal practice. It closes relatively early compared with the bars around it. U Street/African-American Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Metro is a few minutes north.
