Auberge du Vieux-Port stands on rue de la Commune, facing the Old Port and the St Lawrence River from a nineteenth-century warehouse building. Stone walls, exposed brick and heavy timber beams survive throughout, paired with contemporary furnishings, and a number of rooms look directly across the quays. The hotel runs several dining rooms, including the French brasserie Gaspar and the seasonal rooftop Terrasse sur l’Auberge, one of the better vantage points over the harbour and the roofs of Old Montreal. Cobbled rue Saint-Paul, the Notre-Dame Basilica and the Pointe-a-Calliere archaeology museum are all within a few blocks, and the Old Port cycle path passes the door. It belongs to the locally owned Gray Collection rather than an international chain.
