LEGOLAND California Resort lies at Carlsbad, about 35 miles north of downtown San Diego, and is aimed primarily at children between two and twelve. Admission covers more than sixty rides, shows and attractions across themed areas, including Miniland USA, where American cityscapes are reproduced in brick, and a space-themed land added recently. Character meet-and-greets, live performances and 4D films run through the day. The same ticket includes entry to the adjoining SEA LIFE Aquarium, whose tanks hold rays, sharks, seahorses and a walk-through tunnel. Tickets are valid on the selected date. The neighbouring water park is a separate ticketed area, sometimes bundled as a two-day option. Car parking is payable on arrival and the resort is reached from Interstate 5.
