Mezhyhirya Residence "Musem of Corruption" Private Tour with Local Guide

Explore the residence of Victor Yanukovych in Mezhyhirya - one of the most striking and impressive places in Ukraine, also known as "Museum of Corruption". The previous president’s way of life explains how excessive richness and power affects a person.
Duration 4 hours
Private tour available in English, Spanish, German, Italian, Russian, French
Group tour pricing from 180 EUR per person
We did 2 separate private tours with Katerina of Green Tours - to the Yanukovych estate and Pecherska Lavra. Both went very well, worth the premium paid. Quick & easy booking via email. Payment via Paypal. Punctual pick-up and flexible drop-off. We'd highly recommend Katerina as guide. She was very professional, open, knowledgeable, and her English was the best of the several guides we had in Ukraine. She also went above & beyond - showing us how to take the metro and buying the tokens for us, helping us get a picnic lunch before dropping us off at Babi Yar park on the way back from Mezhyhirya, taking us to a nice restaurant after Pecherska Lavra and helping us order lunch there. And she reminded me to bring a scarf to cover my head at the monastery. While you could tour the Lavra on your own, it's highly advisable to engage a guide for Mezhyhirya as the tours of the (utterly astounding) mansion & spa etc are only in Ukrainian and opening hours can be erratic.

Highlights

Walk through the wide private park with golf field and heated lakes

Watch the exclusive restaurant in a Spanish galleon form

Discover a personal farm with unique and rare animals and birds

Appreciate a stunning view of the Kyiv Sea

Explore the mansion-house called “Honka”

Description

Meet your local guide and drive to the Mezhyhirya residence in Novi Petrivtsi village. Explore the enclosed with a high fence “VIP territory” with perfectly cut trees, a tennis court, non-freezing lake, and a farm with ostriches, peacocks, pheasants and other rare kinds of birds and animals.

The most impressive building is the house of V. Yanukovych called “Honka” and a health center (optional visit, for additional fee).
If you go inside the “Honka”, you will be impressed with extra-quality materials, furniture and accessories. There are plenty of very costly and exceptional items in each room, like a Swiss music box, which costs half a million dollars, golden chandeliers, “Steinway & Sons” piano etc.

After you explore this “museum” of corruption, your driver will drop you off at your hotel.

Important information:

The access to all the optional sites (Honka, museum of retro cars, bath complex, dogs training center) is not guaranteed and depends on the Mezhyhirya residence stuff.

Wonderful Solo Tours in Kiev
Recently did the Kiev City Tour, Food tour and Mezhyhirya tour with Konstantin. He was an excellent tour guide. Gave great insight into many different things of Kiev. Ate some wonderful food. I think I was the first person to do the food tour who doesn't drink alcohol, it puzzled Konstantin initially but everything was delicious. The Mezhyhirya tour was eye opening, some of the opulence was almost disgusting. Would definitely Konstantin and Green Tour Ukraine. wonderful customer service and great tours of a fascinating city.
Mezhyhirya Residence Tour
We toured the Viktor Yanukovych residence, also known as "the house of corruption" and had our collective minds blown. Our guide/driver arrived early, was intelligent, informative, and spoke perfect English. He was also well versed in US politics, which helped give context to our tour and made everything very present. If you had seem the house on the news, be prepared that it's all so much worse in real life. There is no way that we could have explored the expansive grounds, health club, house, etc. without a guide. And, hard to imagine a guide who was a better fit for our interests.
