A deliberately scruffy bar on the H Street corridor, decorated in a dark carnival register with red lighting, mismatched taxidermy and a mural-covered rear patio spread over two levels. It has been a fixture since 2009, predating most of the corridor's redevelopment, and describes itself in unflattering terms as a matter of house style. The draught selection favours Belgian and American craft beer, and the upstairs room fills with a DJ crowd later in the evening. It is cash-friendly, cramped and loud, and unapologetically a drinking bar rather than a food venue. The DC Streetcar runs the length of H Street free of charge, connecting to Union Station at the western end.
